An ambitious leading Lloyd's Insurer is looking for an individual to work with the Chief Underwriting Officer and Head of Underwriting Management to assist in the management of the existing underwriting portfolio and to research and evaluate opportunities for growth in the global non-life insurance and reinsurance market.
Assess merits of alternative options for expansion of the existing business, including: Organic change to existing underwriting portfolio Addition of new teams Expansion into new products or markets Acquisition of underwriting agencies or other corporate M&A activity Growth via establishment of new regional offices Typical tasks will include: Research new markets and underwriting opportunities Preparation and delivery of underwriting plan Monitoring and management of exposures against risk appetite Monthly and quarterly performance analysis - identifying trends, reviewing plans Providing insightful and timely underwriting, financial and management information Assess suitability of acquisition opportunities Analyse potential for new underwriting teams Assess pros and cons of alternative options Assess impact of new products and markets on the existing portfolio Suggest strategic and tactical alternatives to improve business performance Identify potential weaknesses in existing portfolio |
